Tamed Musiq
The Berlin-based producer and DJ Iron Curtis forged a unique sound blending dance-floor oriented deep house with elements of abstract ambiance and hazy electronica. Following on from his 2012 “Soft Wide Waist Band” album and a string of quality releases on labels like Mirau, Hudd Traxx, Retreat or Uncanny Valley, the prolific producer returns to Rafael Ripperton’s Tamed Musiq imprint with a long-overdue sophomore album “Upstream Colour”.

“Upstream Colour“ is a stunning journey in twelve parts where ambient pieces effortlessly slide into club-ready tracks, thanks to a very distinct range of sounds. There's an unmistakable dream-like quality to the music as subtle tones, elusive melodies and background noises give the impression of looking at familiar elements through a veil.”
The aptly titled seventh track, “Lucent”, is among album’s most beautiful and introspective pieces, conveying the delicate gamut of sentiment dripping with melancholy. The stunningly elegant and emotive synth melody, enigmatic strings and atmospheric sounds instantly teleport a listener back in time, living them in a hypnotic state of mind.

The Giegling collective techno stalwart Edward delivers two mesmerizing reinterpretations of pioneering German composer Rolf Troster via Oliver Hafenbauer’s Die Orakel. Originally recorded in 1982, “New Age Intelligence” and “Der Prophet” see Edward masterfully collapsing the distance between new age ambient, experimental and modern club-oriented music.
The new version reimagines the alluring light sequencer “New Age Intelligence”. Edward is beautifully melding the dance floor pressure of house and new age-ambient electronic music with intricate layers of atmospheric textures and eccentric sequences.

Hailing from Argentina and now residing in Berlin, incredibly talented producer Arnalo has been quietly constructing a catalogue of hazy, intricate and sophisticated deep house productions released via Smallville, Greta Cottage, Aim, UntilMyHeartStops, Blank Slate. However, for his latest “Buena Onda” EP, he returns to his own Naturist Recordings imprint with four tracks delicately balancing between deep melancholic immersion and dancefloor funk.
Beautifully engrossing with hues of subtle melancholia, “The Man From The Mountains” is a gorgeous slow-burning gem with an emphasis on evocative sentiments and atmospheric impressions.

Japan’s Mule Musiq continues establishing itself as an essential label with fantastic releases. For this release, we see London via Berlin producer Joseph Richmond-Seaton debuting a superb remix package of two Kuniyuk tracks from his 2017 album “Newwave Project” under the Call Super moniker.
On the A-side, Call Super’s take on “Newwave Project #2” carries a spacey yet dreamy atmosphere with underpinning hushed, stretched out chords, brooding, esoteric minimal synth melody and evocative mood.

Swedish record label Solkyss welcomes the “head chef and marathon dancer” and a newly fledged Marathon imprint label boss Edvin Wikner for its sixth release, the delightfully intricate and hypnotic “Kai Saa” EP, alongside an impressive collaboration with Malmo-based producer Per Hummer and a mesmerizing remix courtesy of Arkajo.
The Genius Of Time’s Nils Krogh, also known as Arkajo, brings his signature style and dark atmospheric elegance to the record with his take on the “Kai Saa” using irresistible, dub-laced groove and delicate melody that evokes a melancholic mood.

Dutch electronic music maestro and master of creating magical moments on the dance floor brings his utterly gorgeous long-awaited collection of tracks to Sub Club label, Nautilus Rising. Entitled “9576” EP, the collection of four tracks is “influenced by thin journeys, passing landscapes, hiking and over 20 years experience in the studio.”
Through spine-tingling moments of musical reflection, sonic expressionism and hypnotic groove, “9576 (First Class)” is taking a listener on the beautiful ride encompassing every nuance of emotion, candid introspection, and poetic magnetism. It swoons with deeply moving and melancholic tones while a subtle, meditative rhythm holds all the floaty soundscapes together with an atmospheric texture.

The next installment of Slowciety features Orsery, Sooma, Bawrut, the three producers of the French imprint. Together, they masterfully crafted a gorgeous palette of addictive rhythms in form of the “Le Rythme” EP. Here is what the label is intended to say about this release:
“Think percussions and samples, prominent bass-lines and a mind distorting pattern switching modular synth. With main stage tracks and open-air pieces, Le Rythme covers it all.”
The remix of “Discovery Channel” comes from the Italian newcomer Bawrut who refits the propulsive, tribal-house infused original into a powerful, mind-bending production with mysteriously pulsing synth arpeggios and infections rhythm sprinkled with uplifting percussion which delivers the maximum impact.

The highly acclaimed German maestro Robag Wruhme brings magical sounds with his next release, a new album “Wuzzelbud FF”, through Pampa’s sub-label Hart & Tief.
This is his first solo release in three years following artists 2015 “Cybekks” EP on Pampa. Robag Wruhme presents the new double EP as “the stylistic follow-up to that debut album,” artist’s 2004 debut album “Wuzzelbud KK”, “showcasing a sound he avers has been neglected for so long.” In Robag Wruhme’s own words:
“I wanted to put out some straightforward music for the dancefloor, something for the primetime. Well, for the prime time for my sets, at least.” “Wuzzelbud FF”, which consists of nine equally powerful tracks, is an infectiously groovy, funky and diverse musical journey.

Dutch producer Roger Van Lunteren is the latest artist to join SOHASO family with his debut EP “Rosa Dos Ventos”. Utilizing raw 80’s analog synths and humanoid acid lines he sets atmospheres that remind of Lynchian dreamscapes.”
Roger Van Lunteren has created an astounding journey where lucid tonal textures, ambient moods and nostalgic synth lines beautifully assembled into a surreal unsetting dreamscape.

For over 7 years, Jennifer Cardini’s electronic music imprint Correspondant, has developed rising stars, unearthed new talent and provided support to the label affiliates. This time, the Berlin-based label celebrates the release of an excellent new compilations with 16 tracks “ranging from palpitating ambiance to chuggernaut technoid trips; the stirring 16 track set features lane night creations from old friends ( Red Axes, Zombies In Miami, Mike Simonetti, Moscoman) new friends ( Simple Symmetry, Perel, Julian Stetter,) and friends that have been Correspondant kindred spirits since day one, but have never had the opportunity to cast their magic on the label… Until now ( Black Merlin, MR TC, Yula Kasp & Mi.ro).
One of the standout tracks on the compilation comes from the MR TC aka Thomas Clarke. The Glasgow-based DJ and producer created a mysterious and enveloping tune called “Golden Gate”, capturing the twinkling mystery and delicate passion of the late night.
