PREMIERE: WhoMadeWho - Dynasty (Jimi Jules remix)

WhoMadeWho, the genre-bending trio based out of Copenhagen are at it again. With their sixth album just announced called, ‘Through The Walls’, and the lead single ‘Dynasty’ now available to stream, one should expect to hear a lot more from this dynamic band in the coming months. To complement Dynasty’s release, remixing duties have been extended to luminaries such as Denis Horvat, Roosevelt and our standout pick of the pack, Jimi Jules.

If you aren’t familiar with the Swiss born DJ and producer, his body of work includes releases on Innervisions, Cocoon Recordings,Watergate Records, Stil Vor Talent, and Defected to name a few, along with his brilliant debut album, ‘Equinox’ released in 2016 off of Zurich based, ‘Zukunft Recordings’.

Jimi Jules’ take on the disco drenched original is a deeper cut, with the layers of sophistication and organic soundscapes for which artist has become known. As the song builds, the melody sprinkled throughout provides a stepping stone like bridge to Tomas Høffding’s vocals which have been masterfully sliced and sampled by Jules, culminating in a staccato breakdown and a growling bass line.
