SUNDAYS ARE FOR…
Sundays are for…Many things. Often times for after parties, often times for no parties. Sundays can be the icing on the cake of a long weekend, and other times the trough before the massive wave called Monday that rolls over you. In either scenario there is a wealth of music awaiting your minds and ears to make your Sundays better. As with Delayed and our love of curation, we’d like to extend our programming and expertise into another realm, dedicated to that of downtempo, electronica, ambient and everything in between. The caveat? Only quality not quantity, and don’t hold us to genre. How does this work you ask?
Starting today and once a month onwards, we’ll be posting a simple Bandcamp list of 10 tracks that we believe fit our spirit of Sundays are for series. Now, these aren’t going to be all new releases, nor are they all going to be old, but in the spirit of our Sundays, which seem to be always changing, a mix is guaranteed. Sundays are for many things, and having the right music makes them all better.
Traveling to new areas, to see new things, to have new experiences. The world is big again, and there is much to offer.
Special times and moments, as the soundtrack of this morning has wonderfully been provided by none other than Irina Kotik.
This Sunday and month in general also marks the second year of monthly playlists, and guest mixes. The latter of which is our focus for today as we welcome an incredible producer, Inhmost.
Sundays can be a bit daunting at times but I hope for many, this series has provided some much needed respite.
This morning we are joined by Berlin based DJ and curator Lilli Zylka. Whether through her Bluets series on Operator Radio, or her contributions to Radio Punctum, her ambient mixes have a distinct feeling and flow that sets them apart. Today is no different, so sit back, take a sip of your coffee or tea and enjoy the textures and sounds...
Escapes from reality, and weekends away from the cacophony of city life. A much needed break to recharge, to recenter.
For each Sunday's guest mix, and in turn mix, a special emphasis is put on having that personal feeling or touch. Those mornings can be particularly poignant and I believe capturing that in sound adds an edge to music chosen.
Soundtracking today’s warm summer morning is Australian-based, DJ and producer Cambio Sun. His productions are eclectic but cohesive, running through a litany of genres, just in a single song. His mixes, more of the same. With this in mind, we’re happy to let Cambio Sun provide an auditory companion to your morning routine.
Those quiet moments as the sun beats down upon the land. Burning away the last vestiges of the morning mist and signaling the start of a new day.
Days of warmth, and sun. Here in Brooklyn, summer has arrived. Hazy mornings and long afternoons mark the passing of time. It’s to Brooklyn and in turn Micah Frank that we look for this morning’s inspiration and sound track.
