Delayed with... ANNX b2b noodle [Delayed x Above Below]

At Delayed, we feature a lot of mixes throughout the year, whether through our podcast series or our monthly lists of favorites. But today’s featured mix holds a special place for me, the author.

Let me set the scene. It was June 1st, and our crew was invited to play at the remarkable Above Below Festival in the Chiltern Hills, England. The setting, the people, and the music created an almost dreamlike experience. Connecting with so many like-minded music lovers was genuinely heartwarming. Two DJs though, ANNX and noodle, truly stood out with their performance. After more than 15 years of being indifferent to Dubstep, these two reintroduced it to me in a way that completely blew me away.

I met ANNX and noodle the day before at the festival, and they immediately struck me as warm, genuine, and full of positive energy. What I discovered the next day is that they’re also exceptional DJs. Lifelong friends, ANNX and noodle, despite living in different cities (London and Edinburgh), have been bonded by music since their early years. Both are well-respected in their local scenes; ANNX is a co-founder of the phenomenal Whomp parties in London and AR of Above Below Festival, and noodle is a co-founder of GRDN parties and Subterranean Sound Festival in Edinburgh.

Although they’ve been friends for ages, this was their first public b2b set, and they delivered in a big way. Their smooth, groovy, wicked set at the packed Stone Circle stage was impressive. They radiated such infectious positive energy, and it felt like they had been playing together for years. In a festival filled with talent, ANNX and noodle were the highlight for me. This was my first real introduction to quality dubstep (never late, just delayed ;)), and I’m forever grateful to these two wonderful DJs.
