August’s list traverses a diverse spectrum of styles, ranging from the experimental ambient to the pulsating rhythms of techno and drum & bass and encompasses every imaginable nuance in between.
Jin [靜] - Mysteries of the Deep CXLVIII
Brooklyn's own Mysteries Of The Deep collective welcomes incredibly talented Japanese-born, London-based artist Jin [靜] for their 148th podcast chapter. Jin's deep, introspective drone and ambient style perfectly fit the aesthetics of MOTD's carefully curated series. The set was recorded live at Tokyo's Liminal Dreams.
Claudio PRC - live at Fuse Brussels, June 17, 2023
It's not news that Claudio PRC is one of the favorites of our editorial team. 012 label boss 'cracked the code' of techno music and keeps delivering with each new release or, in this case, a DJ set. The set was recorded during the 012 label showcase at Brussels's renowned club Fuse, where Claudio shared the decks with Laura BCR, Luigi Tozzi, and Sonhan. Get ready for two hours of exceptional driving techno from one of the leading figures of the underground techno scene.
Polygonia - live at Monument Festival 2022
It isn't an overstatement that Polygonia has been one of the most promising talents in underground music. In the last couple of years, Lindsey Wang, better known for her techno alias Polygonia sees a skyrocketing rise, and it's all for an excellent reason. Her artistic output, whether music production, DJ sets, curation of IO and QEONE record labels, or graphic design, is a breath of fresh air that has become well-recognized worldwide. The live set we enjoyed listening to was recorded at last year's edition of Monument Festival and presents Polygonia in her best light. Keep an eye on Polygonia's upcoming US tour, which will happen in a few weeks!
Al Blayney - OB28
The latest gem in On Board Music's podcast series comes from Al Blayney, the founder of an incredible Appian Sounds and relatively new Space Shepherd imprints. Al is known for his exceptional taste, and it's no wonder there was a slight excitement before I hit the play on this mix. And yes, the mix met all the expectations. The masterful track selection packed in a smooth, slowly evolving ride makes this mix a 'must-listen' material.
Job Jobse - Dagen Van Diamant (Summer Mix ‘23)
A few DJs can match the energy and positivity that Job Jobse creates when behind the decks. His sets are fun and burst of 'feel good' vibes. Dagen Van Diamant (Summer Mix 23) is a perfect example of what one can expect when listening to his sets. Job said this about the mix: An ode to the perfect summer day. Those diamond days when there's nothing else you want to do than hang out with your friends, lie in the sun, and dip in and out of the water. So play it on the beach, at your pool party, on your road trip, or any other sun-drenched setting of choice. Expect early 00's Global Underground Ibiza vibes, 90's Italian dream house, old and new school progressive, and a big Balearic sunset moment to finish it off. Including some hidden gems, some unreleased cuts, and some bonafide hits, all tried and tested for SUMMER.
Dorisburg & Sebastian Mullaert - Page 106
Two Swedish techno mainstays, Dorisburg, and Sebastian Mullaert, recently released the highly anticipated album 'That Who Remembers' on Spazio Disponibile, and this live set for the esteemed The Memoir series is a perfect extension of the album. Based on extended versions of album tracks, this marvelous two-hour set also showcases a lot of unreleased jams from the duo, which we hope will see the light of day at some point. Until then, find yourself in a comfy place, put the headphones on, and enjoy the ride.
F-on and Ario - Lucid Dreams #06
If you're in the mood for some experimental, ambient soundscape, this four-hour journey curated by Alpenglühen's F-on and Astral Industries' Ario is a must-listen. With a perfectly fitting name - Lucid Dreams, this mix requires your full attention and is not a background listening. The intricate details will transport you to different dimensions you didn't know existed.
Mjulev - Kauz Mixtape 31
The Swiss producer and DJ Mjulev is back on our list with his latest mix for Zürich's nightclub Kauz and their podcast series. The mix is made exclusively from Mjulev's original productions, radiating perfect summer vibes. It's groovy, hazy, and deep, the type of house music you want to listen to on a lakeside or a rooftop.
Eric Cloutier - Monument Festival 2023
The closing set of this year's Monument Festival by Eric Cloutier is a true techno masterpiece. Cloutier keeps the energy high throughout this fabulous four-hour journey exploring different shades of the beloved genre.
Will You - Blankhaus Podcast 042
Will You spend years honing his craft as a full-time resident DJ in Croatia. It was here that he founded his label Oleeva Records and went on to play shows across Europe, the UK, and the USA. Since returning to the UK, he's hosted a monthly show on London's Bloop Radio and continued curating regular releases on Oleeva that span across the spectrum of house and techno. He's a versatile DJ who enjoys playing a plethora of energies and styles, from soothing ambient soundscapes all the way up to 135bpm acid house and techno. Will's latest mix for Blankhaus is a beautiful, eclectic journey and an ideal summer soundtrack. This mix is true ear candy, from lush ambient and tranquil downtempo to hazy deep house.
Sciama - Deep Breakfast 218
The beloved Deep Breakfast podcast series has gotten a marvelous edition with Sciama's DJ set recording from this year's Perpendicular festival. Auxiliary affiliate known for his immaculate productions delivers a journey through dark ambient tones paired with deep emotional undercurrents and organic, warm, and tactile soundscapes.
Laima Adelaide - Forsvarlig Podcast Series 130
The Stuttgart-based Laima Adelaide is not a stranger here at Delayed. We've been fans of Laima's razor-sharp dark, deep techno for some time, and each new offering doesn't go unnoticed. The latest mix Laima made for Forsvarlig Arkiv collective is a hypnotic escapade that explores depths of techno in its darkest form.
Ben Bondy b2b Pontiac Streator at Dripping 2023
The recording of Ben Bondy's and Pontiac Streator's b2b action at False Peak Showcase is a wonderfully eclectic music tale that levitates somewhere in between ambient, downtempo, experimental, and electronica realms. This mix is an essential morning coffee listening.
Lychee - Patterns of Perception 116
Brooklyn's own Lychee delivers yet another mind-bending mix that we thoroughly enjoyed listening to. The mix is exclusive for our friends at Patterns of Perception and sees Lychee taking us for a ride through a deep, dubby, and quite hypnotic techno soundscape.
Na Nich - Danza Nativa 018
We can totally get accustomed to listening to Na Nich's mixes every month. The mix Rhythm Büro co-founder made for Danza Nativa's podcast series is a smooth, immersive music tale exploring realms of half-time d&b, the style we adore here at Delayed.
Kim Kenis @ Metropolis, April 9, 2023
Kim Kenis is a DJ from a vibrant Belgian underground scene, whom we met at Waking Life and whose style instantly stole our hearts. Kim is a DJ who focuses on storytelling made of the deepest shades of house and techno, and that recipe is one of the favorite ones here at Delayed. The recording from her set at Metropolis in Brussels shows Kim in her element. The set is deep, off-kilter, and groovy - an ideal style for an afternoon party on the hazy dance floor overlooking Brussels.
XDB at Outro Lado, Waking Life ‘23
When the lineup was announced for this year's Waking Life, XDB was one of the DJs we were most excited to hear, and in the end, it couldn't work out better. XDB's set was the 'closing set' for us, after which we left the festival, and it was too good. Kosta played such a beautiful set that fit the scenery just perfectly. Sunny Monday afternoon at Outro Lado, lakeside, surrounded by happy people and XDB as a conductor.
Vlada at Floresta, Waking Life ‘23
Another set from Waking Life that is very nice to re-live is Saturday sunset set by Vlada at Floresta. The atmosphere was very vibey and uplifting. People were in full party swing, and Vlada grabbed this ideal setup with both hands and took everyone for an energetic, quirky journey through house, techno, breaks, and acid.
Oliver Hafenbauer - Truancy Volume 315
The latest mix from the always reliable Truants podcast series comes from Die Orakel founder Oliver Hafenbauer, whose incredible track selections make his mixes 'a must listen', and this mix is no different. Dive deep into the world of leftfield electronic music that will leave a smile on your face upon finishing the mix.
Adhémar - MNMT 381
The master of deep, low-slung atmospheric techno, Adhémar is back with another perfectly executed set. The set is a new chapter in the incredible sonic journey by the French multi-disciplinary artist who is one big favorite among our editorial team.
