PREMIERE: Aspetuck - Bubbles [Oslated]

2022 looks quite busy for our fellow NY-er, Aspetuck, who has a new long player called 'Inanimate Distraction Object' coming out on beloved Jeju-Island-based record label, Oslated.
The album is inspired by the experience of becoming a new parent - the process of coping with constant change & learning to deal with a loss of independence contrasted with the beauty of watching a baby grow & observe the world around them. These songs serve as a sort of diary for Aspetuck, which has been a recurring theme throughout his time releasing music. Various field recordings of baby toys can be heard subtly throughout the album.

'Bubbles,' our premiere for today, has an infectious groove that instantly catches the listener's attention, but it's the melancholic pads and catchy bass line symbiosis that does the magic during this voyage. Both elements create a feeling of warm undercurrents and tranquility, which, when layered with Aspetuck's signature rumbling groove, make quite a pleasurable ride.
"Inanimate Distraction Object" LP exhibits Aspetuck's fine development as an artist and is arguably his most mature release yet.
