PREMIERE: lunar convoy - Delta Trancer [ACCENTS RECORDS]
Continuing their extensive V/A series, the sixth installment of Various Artists is coming to the French Accents Records label. With eighteen tracks, the ACCENTVA006 compilation is a creative, open-minded curation aiming to promote an “outside the limits of the overly codified deep techno field” approach to music. The album is a diverse, loosely defined selection of ambient, experimental, and techno works from well-known and rising talents, spotlighting new faces among regular contributors to the label.
Produced by the Brussel-based co-founder of Norite label and DJ Souleiman Bacar, aka lunar convoy, Delta Trancer is a hypnotic ride into a dubbed down, no-hustle territory.
First, it grasps attention by the signature trip-hop(ish) groove, steadily proceeding with the confidence of an engine driven over the acid bass-line. Next - a shattered, almost imbalanced breakbeat progression, like a curtain, slightly opens inner workings. Then - promptly building back the rhythmic harmony - this time with a synthesized injection of the satisfying, energetic burst. Powered by a no-nonsense slow-burning internal combustion, the track moves towards the softer, somewhat inhabited, mesmerizingly soulful side.
