PREMIERE: TREN - I Missed Having You In My Life [Pintai]

The debut release on Pintai, VA 01, is soon to be out in the world. Pintai, a collective based in the Dutch capital, has spent the past couple of years shaping a community of music lovers through intimate events and experiences across the city. Their collaborations include a partnership with Small Steps at ADE last year, Delayed for our first European event in spring at Borisov, and a forthcoming event with Swiss outfit, Project Indigo and Small Steps later this month.

Now, with their debut 12-inch and digital release, Pintai captures the essence of what’s been calmly growing, and it’s everything we expected and more.

We’re here to highlight the closing track, "I Missed Having You in My Life," by the elusive TREN, always appearing unexpectedly but gently, with followers eager to hear what’s been created. The track opens with a ceremonial, classical, and mysterious feel, led by organ-like sounds. A shuffle of drums and an emotive groove then combine with the layers of organ and hazy pads, uplifting the piece to its peak.

A soft, introspective track—eyes closed, a subtle smile, and a deep breath. The perfect closing to a debut EP that showcases the deeper, slower side of Pintai’s personality and output.

Various Artists 01, including a beautiful return from TREN, will be available on vinyl and digital via Pintai’s Bandcamp page on 29th October.
