TRACK OF THE MOMENT: Mathis Ruffing - Splinter Cell [Infinite Drift]

After the feature in its inaugural release in 2018, Berlin-based imprint Infinite Drift welcomes back its co-founder Mathis Ruffing with mind-bending ‘Music For Airpods’ EP.

Ruffing’s intention with this EP is to produce original pieces ostensibly (but not exclusively) for these particular headphones to build up a small but versatile catalog of music suited to a wide variety of moods and atmospheres.

Our pick for today’ Splinter Cell’ is a fast-paced electro-tune driven by hypnotic ‘DX7-like’ melody and soft crystal pads. Even though this whole EP was made with headphones listening in mind (and the EP does sound very well balanced when listened to on AirPods), we are sure that this track will do proper damage on dance floors around the world once unleashed through a powerful sound system.
